Easter Sunday
At the heart of this Easter message lies a profound simplicity captured in a children's song: Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so. These words, often sung at bedtime, contain the entire gospel truth we need to grasp. Drawing from 1 John 4:9-12, we're reminded that God's love isn't dependent on our worthiness, our church attendance, or our spiritual performance. Instead, His love is demonstrated through the ultimate sacrifice: sending His one and only Son so that we might live through Him. This message challenges us to understand that we were dead in our sins until Christ made us alive. The cross and the empty tomb aren't just historical events we remember once a year—they're the constant reminder that while we were yet sinners, undeserving and unworthy, Christ died for us anyway. The beauty of this love is that it never fluctuates based on our mistakes or failures. When we struggle, when we fall short, when we don't feel loved, the truth remains unchanged: God loves us perfectly because of who He is, not because of who we are. This Easter, we're called to let this truth sink deep into our hearts and transform how we love others, especially those who are hardest to love.
