Christians & The Law

What does it really mean to live as a Christian after we have been saved? This sermon digs into one of the most misunderstood tensions in the Christian life: the relationship between the law and faith. Drawing from Galatians 3, we are confronted with the same question Paul put to the Galatian church centuries ago. Were we saved by observing the law or by believing? The answer seems obvious, and yet so many of us quietly slip into a pattern of trying to earn our holiness through effort and good behavior after salvation, the very thing we could never do before it. The law has genuine value. It exposes our sin and reminds us of what is good and right. But it was never meant to be the engine of our spiritual lives. Jesus fulfilled the law completely and perfectly, and that fulfillment changes everything. The tearing of the temple curtain at the moment of the crucifixion was not incidental. It was God himself declaring that the old way of approaching him had been replaced by something far greater. We are invited to live not by striving but by faith, trusting that God moves not because we have checked every box but because of his grace.
